La'Sonia N. Nick-McGriff Natural Stylist
A Word About Our Owner
La'Sonia Nick-McGriff is a natural hair stylist extraordinaire. She continuously liberates sisters and brothers from the root out and has been blessed with a God given talent for doing amazing things with your natural tresses and custom weaves.
Having never had a relaxer or a perm, La'Sonia offers a world of knowledge about natural hair. She takes pride in her craft and believes it is her duty to master it to her fullest ability. Based on this, she decided to master the care of natural hair and specialize in custom weaves.
Early on, La'Sonia would stand over a stylist's shoulder and watch people have their hair serviced. She used what she learned to practice on herself, a friend, or family member. This prompted her ability to add her personal signature to various styles. Her natural talent and curiosity is how she learned the techniques of braiding with extensions, weaving hair, pressing, and cornrowing.

World Class Training
Later La'Sonia began to work in an all-natural salon where she received intense training. It was during this time that women and children really began transitioning back to their roots.
La'Sonia was fortunate to have more than two years of extensive training under world-renowned hair stylist Barry Fletcher. This training led to widespread recognition and she has since become one of the top requested natural hair stylists in the region.
In addition, she occasionally conducts braiding classes at county parks and recreation centers for Prince George's County.
Every style that is performed by La'Sonia promotes healthy hair and the growth. She maintains exceptional attention to customer service and strives to provide you with an exemplary experience.
Service from La'Sonia means you will always receive professional products and outstanding service. Her best day is when a client feels so moved by the end result they feel as though a former self has returned.

I found O'Naturale through a search on the internet several years ago. Previously I had traveled to D.C. and Baltimore for natural hair care stylists with great success but was in search for someone closer to home. I had a consultation with the owner who made me feel comfortable with her knowledge of proper natural hair care. I began regular hair appointments and through proper hair care and moisturizing, not greasy, hair products, my hair became more manageable and softer. LaSonia knows all types of natural hair styles which I found is a struggle for some stylists. I love the products that's she's introduced me to and know that I will get excellent results every time. I always get compliments when she styles my hair. Keep up the great work LaSonia!

La'Sonia was Recommended to me by a running group buddy. She (the buddy) got her hair cut/colored/combcoiled. So since she was natural and her hair looked really cute, I thought I'd go to La'Sonia as well. Made 1st Appt Dec 22,2012.
Was planning to get color, but was afraid to try it as I've never had color before. NEEDED something to cover the gray strands around my forehead. Just got comb coils at the appointment. They were done CORRECTLY considering another place I went to 10 days before that did them wrong. La'Sonia's were small and tight. They really looked good on me. I definitely did NOT want an afro as it seems that Natural Hair stylists seem to always give natural clients. I was VERY pleased with the Comb Coils and they stayed in just over 2 weeks. I workout 3-5 times/week and the top section started growing out quickly. The sides and back secions were still neat when I went back to La'Sonia to have it re-done.
THANKS La'Sonia! . Finally I found someone that's not trying to give everyone a teannie-weenie afro(TMA) style

My husband and I came across O'Naturale Natural Hair via the internet. I began locking my hair with the owner, Lasonya McGriff about two and a half years ago while I was pregnant with my first child. Lasonya is very knowledgeable about natural hair, and is extremely skilled in her craft. Plus, she is a family friendly stylist with whom you can foster a great relationship. Anyone who has had a good hair stylist knows that this is a nice attribute to come across. She also creates beautiful styles with locks. I am always getting compliments from people when I get a style from her. She is a perfectionist, and it is evident after you have gotten your hair done by her. Lasonya has provided me with great tips in maintaining my locks in between my visits. My hair is doing very well, and I would recommend her to anyone who desires to begin or maintain locks.

I actually found this salon online while searching for a natural hair salon that could start the process of locking my hair. I came across the website for the salon and called the number to inquire and ask some questions about the process. After scheduling an appointment and talking with La'Sonia I was thoroughly convinced that this is the salon and person I can trust with my hair. I have been a client of La'Sonia's for a short period of time, like a month and a half, but I am more than satisfied with the work she has put into cultivating my locks. She has acquired a life long client in me.
